Christmas Ornaments!

Saw this.  Made these.

Sully, Balrog, Mike, Minion
Dan, Nannaya, and Vemana thought they were cool and made their own:
Dan-made, Nannaya-made, Vemana-made
And some of the ornaments on the Christmas tree:

It was so funny seeing a bunch of grown men crowd around the dining table making these, like a bunch of kids at an arts and crafts table.

Happy holidays :)

Wall mural - finished!

Went home for a day over the weekend - even though I have plenty of work to do for school I decided to finish my remaining circle for my wall mural.  I just couldn't stand the unfinished triangle in my room.  The other two circles were missing their friend.

Here's the mess I made and the finished product:

I used white posterboard to protect the counter tops from the paint - and truthfully, I loved the way they turned out.  They're like little works of art themselves - artistic byproduct.  I'll save them for later.

So here is the finished mural:

Yay!

To give credit where credit is due, my inspiration for this came from the episode Ember Island Players from the amazing show Avatar the Last Airbender.  I loved this episode because it was hilarious and brutally honest.  The artwork in the show is just beautiful and I loved the simpler, whimsical way in which they chose to illustrate the play.

New wall mural - forest scene

This is pretty much the first time I've been home all summer - finally got a chance to work on the second part of my wall mural!  So here's the forest scene:

So now all I have left is the ocean scene, which I feel like will be trickiest though.  I've sketched the waves by hand and it's difficult to make them look right.  The next chance I'll have to work on them will probably be in a few weeks, so the triangle on my  wall will look a bit unfinished til then.

Here's what I have so far:

Will be hanging on the wall in my college bedroom pretty soon!

wall mural - clouds!

Got my dad to take a picture of the cloud part I finished, here it is:

The rest I've barely started on, and unless I feel like driving five hours back home for a weekend I probably won't get it done for another few months.  Oh well.
